VOCAL SPECIALIST & WEST END PERFORMER, sharon sexton

WELCOME - I am Sharon Sexton, an award winning West End performer, qualified vocal coach and vocal rehabilitation specialist.

I am a tutor with The Voice College, London and also teach privately, online and in my home studio, as well as working in training colleges and offering workshops throughout Europe. 

I have been teaching voice for over twenty years, working with students of all ages and abilities, from young children, to seasoned professional performers of stage and screen

Before graduating from the Voice College with an Advanced Professional Dimploma in singing Teachig, I studied classically at the Bel Canto School, DIT's Conservatory of Music & The Royal Irish Academy. I also hold An Honours Degree in Speech and Drama, a Masters in Directing for Theatre and am currently studying for my qualification as a Vocal Habilitation Professional with Vocal Health Education UK. Yes, I am a nerd and love all things to do with the magic instrument that we all posses!

I have been performing for a long time (ahem, 30 years+) and am passionate about sharing all that I have learned and studied. The hands-on experience I have as a performer, offers a unique perspective in the classroom, which I know many of my pro students, who tread the boards alongside me, are truly grateful for.

I am a big believer that EVERYBODY who sings, should have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their voice, and have access to all the technical information, skills, techniques and support they need to reach their full vocal potential.

Singing is THERAPY! and the most natural thing in the world, that we all do before we can even talk - so if you've stumbled on here, curious if I offer classes for "people like you" - I do :-)

I am currently embarking on a UK tour playing Lucille Larusso (Daniel's Mum) in the Karatet Kid, but bookings will be reopen from May 2026 and for those of you who have been working with me for the past year or more, while I toured with BAT OUT OF HELL, you will know, I can turn any dressingroom /hotel into a fine teaching studio!

I have taught singing all around the world, mentored many professional speakers and performers, curated workshops, led choirs, submitted hundreds of students for successful performing exams with LAMDA, TRINITY & The Irish board, and was an associate collaborator on Ireland's first ever musical Theatre Exam syllabus with the Leinster School.

I founded Science Of Singing in 2023 as a place where I can offer classes and also, consolidate all my teaching and rehabilitation work. 

Here I offer classes, short courses and frequently host webinars- where I get to share my knowledge and geek out on all things voice!
