WELCOME - I am Sharon Sexton, an award winning West End performer, recording artist , vocal and acting coach.

I currently teach singing at the Stage School Institute in Hamburg, one of the leading Musical theatre colleges in Europe, as well as running one:to:one classes both online & in person in London/ Lincolnshire. 

I founded Science Of Singing in 2023 as place where I can consolidate all my teaching work. Here I offer classes, short courses and frequently host webinars- where I get to share my knowledge and geek out on all things voice! 

Whether you are singing in a choir, or a seasoned professional - if you want to get a better understanding of YOUR instrument, how it works, how to strengthen it, maintain it and free it from tension with some tender loving care...you've come to the right place. 

ABOUT ME - 

I originally trained in Classical Singing at the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama, where I was awarded a distinction, a scholarship and the Showboat Prize for Best Performer in my year. I hold an Honors Degree in Speech and Drama, a Masters in Directing For Theatre and I am currently studying for my Advanced Diploma in Singing Teaching with the London Voice College. 

I have studied multiple vocal methods and contemporary techniques, training at The Royal Academy of Music, The Bel Canto School and studying under several internationally renowned private vocal coaches in both the UK and the US. 

Sharon has worked as a highly respected vocal coach and acting tutor for over 20 years in stage schools and vocational schools throughout the UK and Europe. She has acted as a voice coach on several professional theatrical productions and has prepared students for professional performances on both stage and screen, whilst also mentoring professional West End performers with ongoing tuition throughout long running shows.

Sharon has successfully prepared thousands of students for examinations with LAMDA, Trinity,  The Irish Board of Speech and Drama and was an associate collaborator on the Musical Theatre Exam syllabus for the Leinster School of Music and Drama, Dublin.
